Default 991.2 GT3 What to look out for

Hi Guys, looking at some 991.2 GT3s in PDK anything to be concerned about or look for specifically? PPI mandatory no exceptions? Most have under 15k miles. Will do some track days, so looking for one with Sport Seats, Carbon Ceramics etc…Thanks again

.2 are pretty bulletproof. Especially under 15K miles. I would still get a PPI tho for peace of mind.

If it has ceramics I recommend looking at the rotor life

check oil tank and lines for seepage, this is a fairly common "problem" with 991.2 gt3 there are many treads here you can review. Generally if its a problem you will note oil on the rear plastic undertray when you remove it. depending on what is leaking can me a fairly minor repair to a more significant engine out repair/replacement of the oil tank.

Maybe you've already made an educated decision, but many people prefer the iron brakes for track use (far less expensive to refresh, better selection of wheel fitments, wider variety of pads, less likely to be damaged if you find yourself in a gravel trap, and some prefer the modulation feel).

Good for peace of mind, but I would say even my track heavy 991 car I bought had 40% life left on them when I checked.

PPI and dme (in my case as it was manual) will tell you what you need to know. Had a convo today with some friends about Porsche cpo not catching things. Best to have an independent PPI and get eyes on it / drive it yourself if possible. If you’re tracking I’d say buckets are a must and steel brakes preferable or just buy a rotor conversion for the pccbs. Also, I highly recommend an exhaust of some sort, I have a GMG center which sounds fantastic. Fabulous cars, you’ll love it. Buy one before spring as values tend to firm up.

Well … I did it … added another…contingent on PPI next week. 2018 991.2 Miami Blue 14k miles. Question… this is in Charlotte, NC at Chicago Motor Cars pretty reputable dealer… Porsche PPI ($900) “2 week wait” or their Independent Shop they use ($400) “next week” for the PPI? I am out of state up north of Pittsburgh PA so didn’t drive or lay eyes on it. CARFAX is solid no issues and CPOd by Porsche last year? Is the CPO transferable? My guy says no? Will check with my local Porsche Dealer. Maintenance looks solid? Thoughts?

Pretty car, I would find your own independent shop to do the PPI, not one affiliated with dealer. 4-500 worth the headache and expense on a 200k car. I heard a lot of Porsche dealers weren’t doing PPI anymore due to the liability if they missed anything. If they’re willing that’s something to consider as well despite the wait. Good luck man

Thanks will dig a bit deeper and need more info on the Porsche Dealer who would perform the PPi. Agreed 100%! Also regardless of the shop performing the PPI if they overlook or miss something they can be held legally liable. My Indy will lay eyes on it once it hits home as well. Thanks

I recently tried to get a local porsche dealer to perform a multi-point inspection on a car I wanted to buy, but they refused unless it was requested and paid for by the owner (seller), and even then they would not share the results of the report (nor the service history of the car) with any non-owner. They did, however, admit that it will vary from dealer to dealer.

I think an indy PPI is the only way to go.

Check brake pipe nipples, picked mine up from a non local to me OPC in May assuming everything would be checked. Got it serviced to find out all the internal nipples were seized in October despite doing 300 miles.
