Fellow GT enthusiasts, we are GT3Belts, a new vendor to the Rennlist forums. Some of you may have already know of us. We wanted to take this opportunity to show and answer your questions on the various options we offer on adding rear seatbelts & seats to your Porsche GT (GT3, GT3RS, Touring, ST, Dakar). We are a California based company and all of our bespoke parts are proudly Made in the USA. We are a team comprised of engineers. Engineers who are fathers that share the passion of driving GT cars with our little ones. Our GT3Belts kit is available for all 991 and 992 GT cars. The kit utilizes all Porsche OEM seatbelts/buckles and complies to all global government safety regulations. It can be installed by an experienced weekend warrior in about 3-5 hours and it's fully reversible.

The standard GT3Belts kit with black seatbelts includes all the necessary hardware. Only basic hand tools are required. (We do offer an installation kit for rent for those that don't have tools.) Optional available upgrades are:

Ill, go as I am looking to put a car seat in the rear of my 991.2 T with buckets which is basically a GT3 setup....

It can be installed by an experienced weekend warrior in about 3-5 hours and it's fully reversible.
1. Why so long? My understanding is the seat belt is bolt-in. The rear area comes apart in a few minutes with plastic clips

2. Do we need to drill for the buckle?

3. Any pictures of the parts of the kit?

1) Really depends on the skill level of the individual. Some may take 5 minutes to remove the front passenger seat, some may take 15 minutes.
2) It will depend on the version of chassis but we provide the special tools required.
3) Please check out site for more details on what's included in the kit since it really depends on the options.

We use OEM Porsche, so your answer would be Yes. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Wow! Very cool, and nice to have this option now! Always considered getting rid of the daily to fit in more sports cars. Will you have backrest options in the future for with and without booster seat use?

Great question! Yes, we have been developing backrest options but honestly we try to keep the weight penalty to a minimum (less than 3.5lbs) at the request of many GT owners. The low profile backrest we have prototyped already encroach minimal space compared to the bulky and heavy OEM backrest. In our testing, little ones and small adults that fit back there comfortably are already ok with the padded rear shelf.

So this has been crash and safety tested for occupants in the rear?

Just to be clear, are you asking if we have crashed test our GT vehicles using OEM Porsche restraints? The simple answer is no, since we trust Porsche has done all the requisite impact testing globally to provide 2+2 rear seating in their 911s. I would place 99.9%% more confidence in Porsche OEM parts in a collision over say 99% of the roll cages installed in 911 GTs.

Porsche has never done crash testing on their 911 GT3s with rear passengers. I'd love to see if insurance would cover this or how cops would treat this if pulled over.

Happy New Year everyone! We have been busy with installs since we released our kits in December. We thank you for your continued support as we are booked through February. To our surprise, many have chosen to use our concierge install services, where we go to you to perform the install.

We wanted to share some pics on one of our more elaborate installs utilizing our tailor-made program that matches the existing GT3 interior. Our customer below had a very unique Porsche pasha patterned interior with OEM Porsche Nappa leather, GT-Silver stitiching, and silver-gray front seatbelts. He had very discerning taste and wanted his GT3Belts kit to match exactly. It was a tall order but our tailor-made program made it a breeze and our team also managed to create a matching car seat to really set-off the GT3 interior design. The GT3 is a hit when he takes his kids to the local cars and coffee. It's a stunner of spec inside and out! We hope you enjoy the pics. Don't hesistate to reach out to us if you want to add funtionality and uniquenesss to your GT3, GT2, Touring, RS, Dakar, ST.

I've seen a few of these conversions over the years -- always figured with the US version of the buckets it wouldn't really be an option because of difficulty getting to the back.

What's your experience with the size of the kids that are getting back there? Spent a little time on your website, can you clarify if the "991 GT3 GT3RS SeatBelt Kit" listed for $3,595 include the rear seats or is it just hardware for seatbelts and car seat attachments? Thanks

Great question! Our solution provides plenty of room even for full sized adults and it's substancially lighter than standard rear seat assembly on 991/992 Carreras (20lbs). The GT3Belts kit only adds less than 4.3lbs (1.9kg), much lighter than a 2-liter of soda! We abide by the GT3 ethos when designing the kit, keep it highly functional and remove uncessary fat...period. Our kit actually provides more headroom and legroom compared to the OEM rear seats. The 991 GT3Belts kit priced at $3,595 includes all the proprietary hardware to complete the rear seatbelt conversion. The kit repurpose the rear carpet bench unless you opt for snazzy tailor-made rear seat. We offer concierge installation if you don't have the tools, or time, to install the conversion.

Ingress and egress for kids is a breeze with front seats fully extended forward. Below is a short video of a 5' 9" lady easily going in and out of the rear seat of a GT3RS with carbon bucket seats.

Thanks for the video! Another question -- Are the car seats secured with seatbelts and rear tether or does the hardware kit include LATCH attachments similar to what the Carreras have in the back?

Hello, the performance car seat that we offer is secured via seatbelts. We do not drill into the chassis to install the latch (isofix) unlike regular Carreras. Drilling into the chassis may lead to problems down the road and isn't reversible. We developed all of our kits to be removed later down the road to transfer into another GT car. Many of our clients tranfer their kits from a GT3 to the GT3RS. Our kits now include the lightweight performance seatbacks. The seatbacks are easily deatchable. Feel free to email us at gt3belts@gmail.com if you have any further questions.
