I would appreciate some feedback and suggestions. I’ve been fortunate to have a solid handful of 911’s over the past 19 years (all manuals). I recently traded a 992 C2S for a 991.2 GT3T. The GT3 has buckets and is a blast to drive, but not a realistic daily. It is a keeper car. With that being said, I’m at a stage where I want to daily a manual 911.
I’m struggling with which model to target. I want something that will be a good balance to the GT3.
I would appreciate anyone else who has experience with this or potential suggestions. Considering it will be a daily I’m leaning towards more modern cars, possibly a 991.1 (maybe not with another N/A engine) or a 991.2 considering low torque or even another 992.

I have 18 ways seats in my 991.2 GT3T and found it very good for daily drive. It holds also very well on track or spirit driving too. You can easily find a pair of 14 or 18 ways for 991 for $4-5k in perfect condition and keep the LWB.

For a manual DD companion to a GT3, I'd say a Targa. Personally, I think the 991.2 Targa GTS is a beautiful looking car.
I personally can't daily drive a 911 I just care too much about them to put them into harms way during their daily paces. I daily a Cayenne.
BUT if I had to, it would probably be the one you traded in. It has the latest tech, the biggest warranty and the least likely to fail on you.
Can you get it back?
I have constantly kicked myself since trading it. At the time I thought it made sense, but unfortunately it’s gone. I may be unrealistic thinking about a daily at 30k miles per year but it’s something I know I would enjoy every day.
Been driving my 991.1 Targa GTS 7MT a lot recently, this car can do everything. Wanna have a comfortable journey on the highway just stay in normal mode, city driving/traffic jams is doable (no overheating), fuel consumption very reasonable, very confidence inspiring in the wet with emergency braking on the highway, a blast on back roads in Sport+ with rev match and pops and bangs. Engine sound is glorious. The front end feels accurate and sharp enough for me (torque is mostly sent to the rear axle most of the time). Only 2 issues are the front end bumper scrapping and the 7MT could be better (sometimes I cannot find a gear but I may be part of the problem). And if I just want to enjoy the sunny day, I can just stop and open the roof at the tip of my finger.
A 992 7MT (T/S/GTS) does sound like a terrific idea as a DD - I drove a 992 C2S (albeit PDK) and loved it and it would be probably in my shortlist if I wanted a DD 911 (I would take it in PDK though). The best DD for me in the Porsche range would probably be a Cayenne.
I did have my 991.2 Touring and a 992 Targa 4S together which was a perfect complement to one another. That Targa was a magnificent car all around. I traded the Targa for a 992 TTS which is a somewhat different experience again but needed to add back a 993 cab for an open air Sunday driver. The Targa was special and (for sure) what I would do in your situation….that is not to say a any 992 iteration isn’t special ….only that silhouette on the Targa made me look back and admire the car every time I parked it.
I had a 991.1 GTS (PDK) cab as my daily along with my 991.2 GT3, as soon as I heard about the 718 Spyder that GTS was GONE ... the Spyder is the perfect compliment to the GT3 IMO: 6MT, 4.0L N.A engine etc etc
if as a DD I might opt for the 718 GTS since the top on that is powered vs. manual on the Spyder ...
I daily my 991.2 GT3 Touring. My former daily is a 991.1 GTS (PDK cab). I think the 991.1 GTS (MT or PDK) is a perfect compliment to a GT3. Unlike the GT3, the GTS can be titrated to your mood. Want to let her rip? With the push of a button or two, you are loud and quite fast. Want to relax and just cruise on the highway? With the push of a button or two, you are cruising in relative silence and remarkable comfort. For me, the GT3 is so much fun to drive, that it is worth the trade-off of being far more frenetic than the GTS, even in its most sedate state (normal chassis and PSE off). But the beauty of the 991.1 GTS is that it can be borderline luxury sedan-ish if you want, or a legitimate sports car driving experience, depending on your mood. The GT3 is a bull in a China shop, even at its most sedate. And I love it for that.
