Default KMP Steering Wheel Issues

Hello. I replaced my OEM steering wheel on my 991.1 GT3 with a KMP 2-button steering wheel. After the swap, I started getting an ESC+TC failure light. My Porsche mechanic says that the steering wheel is causing the issue. KMP is saying that it should not have anything to do with the mid-console functions (such as ESC + TC control). They said that it should be plug & play.

The car does not go into limp mode but it completely disables ESC+TC.

Anybody else have this issue before.

Remove the steering wheel and see if the fault goes away.

I have more information. I got a copy of the scan report from my shop and it is a fault in the steering control unit. Although the message on the dash pops up and then goes away, the fault stays and they cannot clear the code which indicates that it is probably an issue with the steering wheel or module. The next step is to reinstall the OEM steering wheel and see if the codes go away. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do that for another 2 weeks. I sent the scan report to KMP but I have not heard back. Not holding my breath. thank you for the repy.

Did you take the steering angle sensor taped down while you swapped wheels? This helps it from moving so you don’t get any whacky behavior. If not probably need to recalibrate the steering angle sensor.
