Default xm sirius antenna

I have been getting a message on the oem radio screen "check xm sirius antenna" on my 2017 C2S so I will be pulling the radio head to check the physical connection. I have already checked the connection on the antenna at the back of the car. Any need to disconnect the battery for this procedure? I wouldn't think so but just checking. Any other thoughts or comments as to the cause of this message? Thanks in advance!

Faulty antenna. I had the same message, no issues listening to the radio. Took it in to the dealer for a service, they replaced it under warranty. I guess it's a common thing.

Yep, my research confirms the commonality of the issue. Problem is, my 2017 is off warranty so I need to address it myself! Ugh!
