Hello all Rennlisters!
I have seen on Michelin website that Cup2 Connect are available for our cars
265/35/20 99Y
325/30/21 108Y
Even they arent N rated (Porsche), they seem to run wide, as Cup2 N2 and Cup2R, very different from PS4S or other regular tires.
So they come only in XL specs, still michelin recommends them for our cars, Porsche didnt put an N stamp on them yet, but maybe because the 991s are out of production already?! idk...
Anybody fitted these into our cars and have feed-back vs Cup2 N2? they are rated 240 tread and also they seem faster on 992 GT3 vs the regular N2 tires.
Also if anybody used them on the Nurburgring, please let me know. I am looking for a tire faster than Cup2 and at least as long lasting if possible I am trying to avoid TrofeoRs as I have seen some rear tire explosions with those, also AR1s had problems on 996s and still not my first choice... GY R or RS still no feedback for me those, even they are N rated. What else? maybe not much![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
thanks

The Cup 2 connects have a special pocket on the inside that holds a sensor for additional tire data. Our cars do not have the equipment to use this feature. McLarens have them. I’m not sure if you can get something aftermarket to read.
This is the first I have heard that the Connects are faster than the N spec tires. Out of curiosity where are you getting that information? If you are looking for a tire that is faster than the Cup 2s and wear as well, you can try the Dunlop sport max race 2s those are OE tires for the GT3 . If you search this forum they seem to have favorable reviews. I have also heard decent things about the Goodyear Supercar 3s I think that is what they are called.

The pocket and the kit are provided by michelim. Mclaren has oem temp+pressure sensors just like bmw or 992 Gt3rs
Also the conpound is different, newer and longer lasting, tread is 240 vs 180 if I remember right for N2
Nobody uses dunlops on the Ring, there is why my question is around michelin only. Not dunlops by any means, maybe grip isnt where it needa to be..
3RS seem almost the same price with cup2r and fronts are anyway backordered.
So maybe I will have to choose cup2 n2 vs cup2 connect xl (no porsche spec). For the best events cup2r will be my tire of choice
