HYTORC Group Buy
HI!
I'm organizing a Hytorc Lion Gun group buy for Porsche center lock.
Would like to know who is really interested.
Discount will depend on how many Hytorc are bought.
Payment will be done directly to the seller, who will ship the Hytorc Lion Gun.
If any question you can pm.
Thanks
Ricardo

The margin on these tools is not great. List price from Hytorc is about $5,500. Jaime from Dundon and I worked with Hytorc to bring this to market. We negotiated with them to get the price down as much as possible to $4,995, but we had to commit to buying 100 each. I think original retail price started out at $7500. We thought that was too much, so we got rid of some of the extra fluff. I've always wanted something like this tool. I remember there was some version from a different company that posted about a precision battery operated tool on the forum back in 2014, but it was projected to be about $13,000. I don't think it ever made it to market as I was on the beta list if it every did. I'm guessing you weren't aware of the effort that has gone into bringing this to market and the risk of having to buy a boatload committing to hundreds of thousands of dollars in purchase just to allow it to exist. There is no reason to do a group buy on this. You'd pay more with a discount than the price Dundon and I sell it.
From Jamie@Dundon
Hytorc approached Dundon quite a while ago with the CL nut idea and we told them to back off of that as the liability was too high. We played with it and pushed them to the reaction arm idea. Both to reduce costs and to reduce liability of a custom made CL Nut.
For what it's worth Hytorc is having a hard time keeping up with the number tools we and Matt are selling now. So if you want one get in there and get them. Last order took them 3 weeks for us to get ours and we only have 2 left on the shelf as of today...

Gents,
Group buy or not. Even at a 10% discount of $500 after one use you’ll realize it’s worth every penny. With the caveat that you’re a track rat and plan on having a car with centerlocks for a while it’s worth the price of admission and it will hold its value. The Lion gun has plenty of commercial uses as well so it will hold its value. Not all of it but enough to justify the initial cost. You can even charge your friends at the track if need be… I kid but once they see it in action you’ll cringe at people with a 3’ breaker bar and offer yours up.
Cheers,

I don't care how easy it is, $5000 pays for a lot of track time and consumables which is where I'd rather put my money. With the Precision Instruments torque wrench and a $30 Irwin spreader I can change wheels by myself in about an hour. Different strokes for different folks.
