The stiff position on a sway bar is the closest hole on the lever arm, meaning you are making the lever the shortest length, (to eliminate any ambiguity.) If you are talking about the "end of the bar" being the tip "after the 3 holes", then I agree with RDCR.

last time I went "full stiff" on the rear bar was around 2003 on my 996.1 GT3 (CS) ... oh tell a lie, I think I did it on my 996.2 GT3 around '05-'06 ... I did not like the resulting effect on the back of the car (*) YMMV
(*) I broke my rule and let a guy drive it, he spun it out at the bottom of a freeway on-ramp and ended up sideways with an 18 wheeler bearing down on us (me in the passenger seat) lucky for all concerned he went 2 feet in and kept the motor running - so we escaped the t-boning by the truck by seconds ...

actually I was referring to the resulting handling and not the complexity of the adjustment... ![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)

That makes much more sense: yeah, when I was tracking my 991.1 GT3 RS, I had the rear sway bar on soft because I was getting some oversteer out of corners; I had the front sway bar set on the middle position, so I wouldn't get too much understeer. Perhaps our OP is having a problem with understeer, in which case softening the front sway bar might be a better option. . .our OP will find out soon enough.

In my experience the 991.2 isn't that susceptible to sway bar settings. I've run full stiff to full soft on the rear based on rear tire life on track. I would always recommend to be careful based on your driving experience but with new tires full stiff in the rear has been fine. With good tires, I now run full soft F and medium R, but I used to run medium F and stiff R.

I had the rear bar on my 991.2 full stiff - nothing to worry about if you are paying attention.

Run 991.2 with rear sway stiff. For those who come from front engine, oversteer handling balance, very possible it'll be more to your liking. Have thousands of hours of seat time managing oversteer, and pretty much zero hours managing understeer prior to GT3.
Damper tuning often occurs at the end opposite the handling "problem," e.g., increasing front rebound can help to reduce too much oversteer. And so I think it's sound that with a rear sway bar adjustment a driver may get more of what he wants out of the front axle. That's been the case for me -- better responsiveness, a more consistent track up front, and a car more willing to rotate to my liking. Perceptible to me from moment one on track with both my 991.2.
Somewhat counterintuitively, I perceive the car as "safer" with this setup as well. Going back to what you're used to, found myself feeling very uneasy with the car pushing, especially through high speed corners. (And just kind of annoying in low speed.) Where my instincts are to push and carry speeds didn't work very well with the car in the neutral/medium-medium factory setup. I'd much rather the car tell me too much with the back end stepping out than understeering toward track out…
The catch is that because the GT3/RS is such a rear traction focused platform, once those rear tires are done things get very loose with the rear sway set to stiff. Day 4 and beyond with the OE tires is a handful. If I ever get Cup 2 R on the RS, I'd probably go front sway soft, rear stiff on day one. Think it would be a pointy weapon.
Hope you managed the adjustment captscrub, sorry I couldn't be of more help, catch you out there sometime![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)
