There is no consensus on this. It's weird. Some people say the 992 is a Cup car for the road and closer to an RS, others say it's too refined. This guy is saying the front suspension makes the car boring, other people will go on and on about how great it is.

When I was younger and in my 30's I was all about the speed and wanting the baddest, fastest car I could get. Now that I am in my 40's I'm all about the drive and the feel of the drive. Speed is great but I don't care what the car is clocking at 0-60 or around the ring. I want something visceral, engaging, well sounding. As with the all new generation cars they are always going to be better on paper than the previous generation. Does that make them better? Not necessarily. Now I find myself chasing the older gen cars as the 992 does nothing for me.

I have to say. Love my 991.2 GT3 touring. However, six months to a year I’ll likely trade for a 992 gt3 touring with PDK CPO.

I think it's because the 992 is a bit contradictory in itself. The suspension stiffness is more 'race car' but there's more tech inside that has nothing to do with performance and the steering wheel has the multi function ***** and switches on it. The PDK is more refined/efficient and less dramatic.
If you wanted a better setup for the track AND more advanced tech inside then you should like it. But there's plenty of things that others can dislike in it that swings the balance to the older car (for them) and it doesn't help the 992 that it hasn't got any more straight line performance than a 2014 991.1, newer cars having more power is usually a significant pull factor which is absent in this case.

Ditto. For me the 991.2 is the perfect modern 911 platform.

I would love to get a 992 GT3 RS, but the delta between that and my 991.2 GT3 is too great these days. I wouldn't upgrade to "just" a 992 GT3. Isn't worth the effort and money to make the change to me.

They just messed up on the 992 platform. Even the mighty 3RS looks like a cartoon of a 911. You can do many things for the .2 version but you can't make a car feel right sized when you're driving it. They are stuck with that cabin at least for now. I'm so glad I cancelled my 3RS allocation and went with the 4RS.

well now you are just rubbing it in not a fan of the 992 either but how do you say no on a 3RS?

Mine was delayed 3x then I cancelled it. Granted I wouldn't have cancelled it at MSRP but I paid $100k over so it was an easier choice for me. It's a great car don't get me wrong. I'm just getting tired and salty. If I start seeing them at the race track, I'll change my mind I'm sure.

Yes I agree the 3RS has very little business being on the road and really needs to be enjoyed on the track. That rear wing is just too ridiculous for city driving.

I am with you on that, all these cars are more than fast enough, it's the way that a car makes you feel and the joy it brings you in driving it, that's what it's all about.
