Yes I do that too
if I buy a 2nd hand car, I will always start from scratch even if it does have history.
who knows, the books could have just been stamped and maintenance not completed

it’s cheap insurance
do the filters, oil, plugs, coolant, brake fluid, diff, trans, etc.

cheap insurance. And you get to know your car better once your underneath it and have a poke around.

see what’s leaking / weeping. Clean things off. See what comes back.

its fun

Thanks goldberg..one other question .. but with the many options for the Autel, do you have a specific recommendation on a unit?

Has anyone run a Blackstone test on their diff oil after change? I did this on other cars to see how much of additive package and oil integrity was left. Surprise was that OEM recommended 50K miles, but diffs were failing at an alarming rate. Blackstone testing revealed that oil had broken down by 20K so 50K was a fools' game.
This was on street driven cars. More power, lots of heat and extended intervals are not a long term success recipe. YMMV.

On a side note, there is also no "service interval" for coolant either. But i also did coolant flush.

I keep on top of all maintenance in general. Oil & filter every 5k miles etc.

But in the cabin, slowly slowly it had been getting louder. Like a "ballbearings in a cup rattling" / "metal-icky kinda sound"

I changed the diff fluid. The fluid that came out wasnt terrible either. Sure it was dirty, but i have seen worse in the past.
No glitter or metal filings which was good.

But the WORLD of difference in the car. no more noise.
Car doesnt appear to drive any better. But its good to know that its done. It was obviously in need.

I will keep more on top of this in the future, maybe coincide it with the PDK flush which i do every 40k miles.
PDK Flush is also very easy, but need AUTEL or similar to rear PDK temps for filling.

yes LiquiMoly 75w90 (or whatever brand you like i guess) fluid is what i used.
How many liters is needed for the 75w90 diff oil?

I think .. assuming its like most cars .. you fill it up to where it sits just at the bottom of the fill plug

Thanks for the tip. Just had my Indy put in fresh LiquiMoly 75-90 yesterday (44K miles/2014 GT3) -- big difference, much quieter now.

Can someone post pics or instructions for the rear diff on the .1 RS drain and fill bolts? Hate to remove the wrong one!

I will have Porsche do the PDK flush in the spring.

I cannot find any reference to a "differential" svc interval in the provided owner's manuals?
Have changed the PDK clutch oil @ 18k miles and that seemed to make the car 'feel' a bit happier, and am contemplating the PDK trans flush approaching 30K miles.
Where can I reference a differential fluid service interval for a '14 991.1 GT3?
TIA!
