Default Question for you DIY'ers

So I have a question(s) for those inclined to perform some of the maintenance work that is required.

1. With respect to the oil change, how does one clear the notification that an oil change is needed?
2. Have any of you replaced the tranny/clutch fluids and if so can you comment on the process? I read that there is a dealer step that releases or ejects some of the fluid (i'm pulling this from a cluttered memory)
3. Is it necessary that the tires be removed to replace the plugs/coil packs?
4. Did you source the maintenance items from Porsche or is there another avenue for securing these?

thanks ... appreciate the help/insight

1. I use this to clear the service reminders
Amazon Amazon

2 I used my dealer for the PDK service because it is a little more complicated that just draining the fluid. Payed 1300.

3 not necessary but is a lot easier without the tires in the way specially the drivers side.

4 I shop around and buy my parts at the cheapest place I can find online . Pelican, sunset and also suncoast.

hope it helps

Personally find doing as much of the maintenance I can rewarding. Time with the car and learning about its operation. Each project lends to needing new tools/equipment. There’s a lot of great documentation on this site as well as youtube videos. I keep all my receipts, a log of maintenance items and pics of the project.

I agree Mip. I typically do all the maintenance on my other vehicles and other, more complex work. Its a nice deviation from the office and I agree that its a great opportunity to pick up new tools/equipment
