I am surprised that no one has talked about these paddle shifters yet. Found this hidden gem, MadTrace magnetic paddle shifters for 991 cars. They have been around for BMW M cars for quite a while now, and it seems like I am the first person to have it installed on a 911.
The factory paddle shifters do me just fine, but I do like the experience of something you find on a sim/race car (and the Weissach pkg 992 GT3RS). Let me introduce the first magnetic paddle shifters that are a direct replacement to the factory ones (not tape-on, but total replacement). The paddles have three screws that allow you to change the angle of the arm, the paddles themselves, and the length of the paddle which it extends out. It's designed to be plug-and-play, with zero modification needed; it took me 30 minutes to install it. Overall super solid construction; the base is machined aluminum, and the paddles are carbon fiber.
I am neither a dealer nor affiliated with the brand in any way; I am just a customer who wants to share a good product with my fellow rennlist-ers.
I've tried these paddles on a friend's M2. They feel incredible, and make a very satisfying, positive CLICK upon actuation. It feels very race car.
I've already switched to JCR extended paddles for my GT4, but definitely interested in these from a feel standpoint, even if aesthetics are a bit compromised.
So, what is the benefit of these? Do they just "click" nicer?
Pretty much. They also seem to be adjustable for angle and length, which is something no other shifter offers. Kinda cool actually. If I hadn't just installed JCR paddles, I would definitely get these.
Hello,
The JQ Werks Madtrace Magnetic Paddle Shifter for Porsche allows to adjust the angle and distance between the paddle shifter, steering wheels, and steering column. More photos on www.jqwerks.com
Will the aluminum paddles be available as an option?
Although I like the carbon paddles, the OCD in me can't handle the 2x2 weave with OEM 1x1 weave. Could you make the carbon paddles 1x1 weave to match the OEM carbon?
