Dundon street headers.

Been on the car for two years. I still “giggle” at the sound at start up / acceleration / downshifts. So good.

I appreciate the input everyone. I've gone ahead and ordered the Soul valved side deletes. It just makes more sense given I already have the Soul center. Will save the more expensive alternatives to when I make the jump to a .2 or a 3RS.

Will report back when I receive them and install

Akrapovic. Best exhaust for this car. Period. Get the full header back system and a muffler. Perfect sound. Find a used one on here and save $4-5k

Update: Had the side deletes installed. Right away upon start up I was shocked at how much louder the car is, even with valves closed. You can feel the exhaust reverberating through the seats. It sounds absolutely wild when you're having fun and on the gas, but I'm not sure if any normal person can tolerate the volume when putting around town. I'll be wearing ear plugs in the future. Crazy how loud you can make these cars without touching the headers.

LOL, I thought the same when I installed mine. I spend most of my time above 3000 rpm and the sound is aggressive and intoxicating but in no way harsh or unbearable. It’s right at 2000 rpm where it drones and that’s irritating but the positives outweigh the negatives for this set up considering my use of the car which is mainly track and weekend spirited rides. Soul is currently developing a reinforced center muffler. I talked to John Gaydos about it and he said they haven’t decided on material yet, but he mentioned inconel as a possibility. I could certainly be into that to tame the exhaust a bit and give it a more exotic tone. We’ll see.

Couldn't agree more. Full Evolution Akrapovic is the ideal sound tame when cruising & wild when you want it ….and feels like I gained back a bunch of midrange power that was lost w the other louder systems we had tried. Spendy but worth every penny

Default Sharkwerks track exhaust, factory headers

Loud, not for the meek, PROS 45mins to swap back to OEM/FVD side deletes. CONS, May need ear plugs if windows down.

I like it.

  2. JCR Valved Titanium Exhaust. I really like its high pitched tone. I've read that drone (although subjective) is not as completely terrible as you'd expect out of a system like this. Pricey at ~$7200 USD shipped with tips.
Would anybody with experience in some/all of these be willing to share their opinion?
991.2 GT3 here. Tried 4 setups.

I have both Soul Race modular system (non valved) and JCR Race Ti with resonators. They are really different sounds.

Soul is raw, deep, and loud all the time. It’s a really good value and sounds about 95 dB in the cabin under WOT. even some pops under shifting with the side bypass installed. With just the OEM sides and Soul center it’s really a nice dual use sound. Almost stock with valves closed, but over 4,000 RPM when the valves open it has a nice deep tone and is loud. But with the OEM side mufflers it dosent seem to pop on shifts any more.

The JCR Titanium super light race resonated exhaust is remarkably tame under 4,000 rpm despite not having large side mufflers. About 82 dB with the valves closed in the cabin. Open at WOT it’s also 95 dB but more organized and exotic sounding compared to the Soul. The JCR has no noticeable drone and is a great sound. I’d say almost RSR sound.

I’ll have my Soul for sale soon. It’s not bad, but I wanted a different tone and less deep.

I’d be interested in your Soul side pipes if you can move on them quickly.

sold them within 15hrs on GT3 Facebook page for $1500. Soul is a good value. If I had to do it over again I’d suggest the GMG titanium center section and OEM sides. Would be a good sound and quiet with the valves closed. I love the tone of titanium as it’s a bit higher pitched

but if you got the coin, I’d go dundon or JCR (depending on tone preference)

Adding to this:
  • Upgraded to Soul Side Muffler deletes, and they are a very good bang for the buck mod. Noticeable power increase (I was suprised), and the sound addition is sublte but there.
  • Just upgraded to Dundon Street Headers, and quite the upgrade. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. The mid range power increase, and sound (Over even side muffler deletes) is great. Slight burble and pops are excellent. Awesome upgrade, but the price is a bit hard to swallow.
  • I have a JCR TI silencer muffler coming. Excited to try it with the Dundon Street heaers. Feel like this might be a perfect cost effective setup.
I have interactions with all 3 companies via email, all very positive. Jonny from JCR is really responsive, and solid.
