Default 991.1 Warranty question

I’m looking at a 2014 GT3 with slightly over 25k miles. The dealer claims the car has not had an engine replacement.

The engine code is E10350

It has the Porsche 10 year warranty until 1/24.

What are the extended warranty options after that time? Anything Porsche branded or just aftermarket?

Good question and I am following.

I recently purchased a 2015 GT3 with the original “F” motor still installed with only 12k miles. My warranty is good until 2/25 and 108k mor miles.

If your engine is an "E" designation it is likely the original engine. That is not a guaranty but unless the engine was replaced within about a year, it is likely an original.

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the input - I'll likely be going with a 991.2 GT3 at this point.

You can always cook the 2014's original engine, get all brand new stuff and really have nothing else to worry about. Outside of that factory black eye, they're exceptionally solid cars.

Only the first 700 or so that were recalled due to a fire hazard from an internal engine component. That was the initial stop sale. After that was fixed, another problem development with the finger followers. This was a cause of the engine warranty extension to 120k or 10yrs.

I live in Austin next to COTA so can make that happen for sure. Just run it hard on the track multiple days?
