Congrats! I got my .2 6mt last week, I saw your car for two times, once at porsche irvine, once at omomo tea shop, I was literally parking next to you in a white m4, the green color is very beautiful!

I’ve got enough time behind the wheel to get a sense of how the two cars compare.
The 991.2 feels so refined and modern with such a broad spectrum of capability. It can play relaxed long-distance GT one day and visceral canyon carver the next. The ride comfort is pleasant enough to allow for daily use. What’s remarkable, though, is the agility and body control given the quality of the ride.
The 4.0 is a great engine. It’s so linear in its delivery until the last 2k rpm when it turns into an animal. The manual is fantastic, such a pleasure to use.
My 997.2 is a rather special car. The vanity plate gives a clue. Autometrics built the bored and stroked Mezger for me in 2019, taking it from 3.8 to 4.2. Handling benefits from JRZ 12.32 triple-adjustable dampers. Which car is quicker? The 4.2 feels stronger in gear. It’s making big torque from 3,500rpm, where the newer engine is just waking up. I don’t need to be as careful with the shifting in the 991.2, though, so I suspect less time would be lost between gears.
The hot rod GT3 is more fun. The whole experience is more physical and a lot more work. The steering is much more feelsome. The engine is beastly. I let a friend who tracks a 991.2 RS with all the Dundon bolt ons do a couple of laps of Buttonwillow, and he came back grinning from ear to ear, saying that his car didn’t make that kind of torque. He just left it in third gear for the entire lap other than the two long straights.
