Should be fine. I'm using the 5000 model on the GT3. The model name just designates the maximum load it can lift. You probably will need to purchase the jack point extensions separately for the X5 for it to be securely settle at the locking points. You don't want the quickjack to stay up high without locking it for safety.

Thanks BLKMamba, looks like the length is the same, so I thought it should be ok. Agree that I'll probably need the extensions for the X5.
I have the 7000 and works great on a 991 GT3 - no clearance issues and you can use the low rubber blocks it comes with. Now it doesn't fit on an 89 911 - the wheelbase is too short. I have to get the car up on wood blocks first.

I think you can use it perpendicular if enough lateral clearance for movement on shorter wheel base cars...
Some pictures in case it is not clear. I showed where the pucks end up. They are actually attached to the car before sliding the QJ under. The smaller piece of wood is a key. I raise the QJ until I can slide it and hit the pucks with the rim. Then I know the puck is centered on the QJ. This setup makes the QJ as slim as possible. The wheels you see is this hack. I installed it today so I have no clue if it will last..
How do you align the forward/aft location so that both sides are lifting at the same point?
I find that I have use the front end of the side sill on both sides of the car as a rough guide.
With the pucks in place they align with the blocks as pictured. When I slide it under the the “key” barely clears, so a quick pop of the up button raises it enough that it still clears the bottom wood but not the “key” wood. Works great. Love my QJ I just bought the 12v pump on sale and I take it to the track with me.
