Akrapovic 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 Exhaust Compatibility
Hope everyone is having a good Saturday night.
Wanted to see if anyone knows the difference between the rear muffler section on a 991.1 and a 991.2. The reason I ask is, I have a complete (headers, side muffler delete, muffler, and tips) Akrapovic exhaust system on my 2015 991.1 GT3, and I just bought a 2018 991.2 GT3. Am I able to transfer the exhaust from one car to the other? Online, some exhaust manufacturers show that you can use their systems for both 991.1 AND 991.2 (saying they fits all 991 GT3 models), BUT Akra has two different part numbers. Visually they look very close, anyone know what the difference is?
Also, are the headers any different for the 3.8 and the 4.0?

i think the difference is that the 991.2 tips protrude more . When using a 1.1 exhaust on a 1.2 car the tips do not clear the bumper and imo look bad and too short .
Here’s the akra tips on my 991.2 for reference. i’m using fabspeed headers from my 991.1 and everything else (side delete, center, tips — all 991.2 parts) are akra
Thank you all for the responses. The reason I ask is that akra has two different part numbers for the mufflers, but literally, everything else has the same part numbers for .1 and .2. (headers, side deletes. tips, etc)
i put the 991.2 spec akrapovic evolution headers w/ cats + side mufflers, center muffler bypass and 991.2 tips on. it sticks out ever so slightly but I like it as it doesn't touch the rear diffuser and you can read the tips "akrapovic" logo from top view

I’ve got an Akra Titanium centre section exhaust - one of best sounding exhausts for this car if not going the Dundon route. Including separately sold titanium tips. $2950 USD plus shipping and PayPal fees. Taken off my 991.2 GT3
Did you ever figure out the answer to this? I’m in a similar scenario.
Confirmed that the systems are completely interchangeable between the 991.1 and 991.2 systems. I actually have an akra muffler, side muffler delete, and tips available for sale if you’re interested.
