Removing Adhesive from Side Windows?

For track days, I usually use painter's tape to make numbers on the little triangular side windows. After my last time at the track it must have been really hot or I left the tape on too long, but there is still some adhesive or residue or something on the glass. Even after multiple washes it's still there and I can still see the outline of the numbers. Are these windows glass or the lightweight stuff like the rear? Any tips for removing the residue? Maybe a razor blade? I don't want to damage the windows if they aren't actual glass.

The RS rear windows aren't glass. I wouldn't use goo gone or any other solvent on it. I've used goo gone before on clear plastic and the plastic went hazy on me.

Tap the window with your ring and the sound will tell you whether it is plastic or glass.
Scrape off as much as you can with a razor first, if it's glass.
Then apply (the white) Goop cream (the one without the grit). Let it soak, and really if necessary. It stays put a lot longer than any liquid. You can lay some thin paper on it and soak it to help the cream stay there.
I had adhesive remaining on the upper part of the bumper when I removed the Carrera S lettering, fastened by 2 year old foam tape. A lot of the tape adhesive remained. I soaked it with Goop for the better part of an hour, and it came right off. None of those liquids worked for me.

Ok so it seems the rear and side windows are Gorilla Glass (thin-film glass). Not necessarily "plastic". Same stuff as your iPhone screen, for example. Maybe I can check out Gorilla Glass' website for a list of care instructions.

Did you try some packing tape and dab the sticky side onto the adhesive on the window to see if the two stick and remove? Double sided tape works too if the packing tape isn't sticky enough.
