Hi Gents...I am tossing around the numbers to get one of the six GT2 RS Clubsport 25 cars coming to Murica. The MSRP is advertised as $620K. That would be towards the upper end of my wallet limit. Being I'm not a motorsports star or celebrity or known Porsche collector/patron, do you think it would even be possible to get on the list of 6 and would it be expected to sell for MSRP?
You'll be asked to provide your Porsche car "resume" to be considered. But do the math yourself: this thing is neither street legal nor race homologated. It appeals to really a very fine niche.
If there's more demand in the US vs. RoW there'll be more than 6 coming. Ultimately this is the business of selling cars.
Lastly there is no MSRP on these things. Motorsport gives you the car, you pick whichever dealer to have the car delivered to. VIP status with your dealership aside, you'll be eligible for banner Porsche events like RSR or Sportscup . This is a Disneyland Fastpass...
Suggest contact PMNA and get the full price breakdown. In addition to the price of the car which is fixed you would have airfreight, duties, and sales tax. There could be a required spares package but I don't know if that's the case. Porsche might also want a first right to purchase if you sell within a year. best of luck.
Just spoke to someone with some contacts...he tells me the "inquire" period is already over and that there are many more "inquiries" in the hat then available cars. He is one of those with his name in the hat. He said he expects the 6 will go to well backed known motorsport teams with $$$. He says one is thought to already be ear marked for the gentleman in Cali whose last name starts with a C so there are only 5 still up for grabs. So looks like I can stop hyperventilating

25 worldwide including 6 in America, so I don't see there being any but six coming here...the other 19 are already spoken for too I would expect. Thanx for the comment and to put it in my Disney timeframe, an E ticket ride for sure
Keep in mind....600k is the price of the car + Normal SALES TAX + Shipping/Insurance. Its likely to be closer to 700k by the end of it. And then keep in mind....thats straight cash.....really really hard to find financing on race cars especially at this level.

Trust me I understand all about the 7% sales tax here in my Florida county...I could have bought a nice used 911 with my sales tax tab on the GT2 and of course it would be cash, I'm not making the big Principal Engineer's paycheck since I retired but NFLX/MCSFT/AMZN have been good to my portfolio so it would have to be a write the check deal if for no other reason than personal cash flow purposes. But as I posted above the inquiry period is already over so it's a moot point.

Be thankful you're not paying excise tax every year as we do in MA. And our roads suck.

I have no idea what excise tax is but it sounds evil...as to the roads, I just did a family RV trip from Orlando to up up state NY and I don't think I saw a smooth road north of south Georgia, I had forgot how good we have it in Florida with the GT cars.
Same in CT. It's really out of hand at this point.
Me thinks Jefferson was right from the start...I call it Boyle's Law for the politic; Govt. power grows until it has consumed all available space and resources.
One would think that the tax rate would different, since its not a road legal car or that would only apply to gettin the plates there is savings there. Wish full thinking.
