It is no doubt safer, which is a good thing.

there is a huge difference between a proper welded cage vs a bolt on roll bar. A cage you can feel. A bolt in roll bar, not a chance.
It jumped out at me, very obvious, perhaps my butt is more in tune with driving dynamics then yours. Also to have a level baseline for your comment, have you ever driven a GT2 with the OEM bolt in Ti bar with the MR braces/install plates?

I think a rollcage in a Porsche {or any car} is a cool factor for some folks. It sure is for me. I don't track mine but love my bbi streetcup bar. I think a bar looks perfectly at home in any Porsche. Cudos to the OP for springing for a Ti bar. Life is very short guys, live it like you want. Dont sweat the haters.

Interesting proposition, made me stop and think about the runs. I will have to disagree, I had actually been anticipating no difference and to be frank this road unloads the suspension when coming over a hill into drop away right sweeper, which in the past has scared the hell out of me and made me start lifting (which of course in itself can be an issue), I expected the same feeling but nothing, it just stayed planted and I carried much more speed into the hard braking zone for the slow 90 degree right turn. The speed-o-meter was definitely not affected by a placebo

"I couldn't read the OP post, needs some serious help with breaking text up."

Were eleven periods and one semi colon not enough?

When added the rollbar (steel, custom fabricated 1-piece), I couldn't notice any difference in twisty mountain road driving. When I did he same on my Shelby GT350R, it was definitely noticeable which I guess makes sense as was a larger car probably with more chassis flex.

I have not driven a GT2RS with the factory Ti rollbar as yours is the only one in the country, right?. But I have driven many, many other cars, mostly Porsches, before and after bolt in rollbars have been added. On an older car, like a 914 or SC, maybe they do a tiny bit. But those 70s era cars are flexi-flyers compared to a modern car. On the 986/996 cars and newer they do absolutely the square root of jack squat.

I am certainly no professional racer, but I've been a reasonably successful club racer for a fairly long time. So my ability for my butt to be in tune with the driving dynamics is pretty reasonable. As you were on the street, you were no where near the cornering limit of the car. It takes a good 4-5 laps on a race track, driving in anger, to get tires up to full temp (I have the motec internal IR tire temp data to back this up). So there is no real chance to approach that on the street. You are best getting the tires to maybe 150 degrees, not the ~200 where they really have max grip best.

Anyway, as I have said before, I think the fact that you managed to get one of these Ti bars in the US and install it so meticulously is incredibly cool. Its a beautiful piece that really compliments the car. Enjoy the ride.

I don't know if you're aware but the torsional stiffness of a GT2/3 RS is around 40,000 Nm/deg.

If you switch the g meter on in your gauge cluster - when you are pulling close to ~ 1.6g (lateral) you will get a sense of both limit of grip and roll stiffness.

You will only get to these limits on a track and under hard cornering.

Good to see you're enjoying your car but don't discount placebo
