Default Rear Axle Steering Fault

I just got a icarsoft v3 to reset my oil service indicator and I ran a system diagnostic. It came back with a few faults (door open, key fob battery low).

The weird one was the rear axle steering on the right. The fault says “Servo motor position not initialized”. The left one passed though. Also, there is no indicator light on the dash of anything wrong with the vehicle.

I originally posted this in the regular 991 forum but a member suggested I post here as well. I have a 2018 C4S.

Any advice?

I’m no expert, but usually happens when the battery is low.

I cleared it and it hasn’t come back yet.

It may have been from the battery. I know when I bought it a few months ago during the PPI they said the battery was low but healthy so they just charged it. It hasn’t been low since. May have been a leftover fault the dealer never cleared?

I have no experience with Porsche HW/software but do in similar "control systems" areas where the lack of an Initialization point is usually resolved as movement occurs.
I'll bet your system shows no failures after that because the closed loop system is self correcting

Go to a wide open parking lot. Drive several circles slowly, full lock left, then a few more circles full lock right. This will activate and reset the RWS. If there is anything wrong, it will set off warning messages.
