Question Would you purchase a PEC Atlanta Car?

I have come across a RS that PEC Atlanta might be selling to my local dealer. The RS has 4XXX miles and will be certified by my Porsche dealer prior to the sale.

I am wondering if this is worth considering since I am pretty certain that they must have driven it hard on the PEC circuit....What are he things I should look out for?

Would you buy this car and if yes, why? Also if you would not buy this car, why?

Thanks!

Unlikely. Would depend on a few things:
  • Service records
  • What I intended to do with the car
  • How deep the discount is
My guess - the discount wouldn't be deep enough to make it attractive. And I bet they won't have detailed service records either - or won't share them.

For the right price, anything is possible.

Otherwise, just know that PEC cars are driven as hard as possible in a controlled environment.

Sure - with a big enough discount and warranty.

As somebody who participated in a PEC event, I would say hell no. We beat the snot out of that thing, tons of launch control tests, donuts, name it. Now repeat that over the span of a few years.

Also, the high volume of people that have been in there, touching, sweating, no.

^Agreed...I beat the crap out of my 991RS for 20k plus miles with ZERO issues.

Loved it so much I just purchased my second 991RS.

How would you go about asking for one? Are these privately auctioned to Porsche dealers only? Do you just request one? Anyone know the "discount" if there is any?

I've been to four PEC events. I would not buy these cars.

First - I don't think they are really driven that hard by customers - these folks got a gift certificate from their wives for Christmas. They don't know how to actually push the cars so no worries there. I was lapping GT3s in a base 718. (but to be fair, it is a short track and favors the mid-engine over HP)

Second - The professional drivers hammer the snot out of them. I watched them drive on their lunch break. Here is an awesome video that I took of these guys driving your future car.....

Third - They don't let them get up to full operating temp before the hammering commences. That's a big problem for me.

Big pass.

I would. At least any bugs should be shaken out of it. It's been maintained, has warrantee, for the right price I'd take it.

I don't see the issue here, those videos are similar to my usual use car with the RS.
