Default First track day in GT3

Yes I was one of the crazies that drove through a snow storm to COTA. (Trailered it from Louisville)
Car performed perfectly with it's original engine.

Looks like such a fun track, would love to find a way to go one of these years.

Kudos for getting out there and using the car! I got a kick out of the short shifting earlier in the session then watch you slowly progress to wringing it out. The sounds that thing makes is something else.

Cup2s. I actually left it in auto mode most of the time. It was my first time driving the car on track so I wasn’t pushing too hard. This was one of the first sessions where the track completely dried up. The day before you could still see some snow off track. It did get up to 70 that day.

Nice, what'd you think of the track? Worth the haul? I'll be going out there again later this month with Edge Addicts. Driving a GT3 out there is nirvana.

Since I’m an F1 fan it’s always been my bucket list track. I went over a year ago in my old Z06 and had to take the GT3 there. I love the combination of straights curves and elevation changes.

Nice lines! I leave the PDK on full auto. Although I've been driving manual Porsches on track for almost 20 years now, I cannot bring myself to engine brake downshift into the 6-7K rpm range, nor upshifting mid corner to slingshot into the straight manually, both of which the PDK on full auto sport mode will easily do.

I was told COTA had gotten very bumpy last year. Didn't look like it on your video

They repaved it in early 2020. It's regained some bumps since then, but still miles better than its late 2019 condition.

They were a couple of ZL1 Camaros set up for the track. They hit some of the curves at speeds I was not ready to try as of yet.
