Seth is correct on the 991.1 and .2 versions of the GT3/RS which is the forum we are on. I've watched my tech inspecting the rotors on my GT4, .1 and .2 GT3 using that tool.

What I also found interesting is how much the density numbers varied even on the same rotor?

Additionally the pictures above showed a maximum delta of 14, some of mine are as high as 22, I would have thought they would be more consistent?

If you are talking about my post, this is a picture of one of my rotors currently on the car, I was simply commenting on the numbers and their relative range for wear as compared to the OP.

They need to be off the car for the measurements to be accurate.
