Yeah apparently he was sucked into the black hole created by the $$$hift...all I can think is he had a bad lurch (gotta be quick on the blip with this engine), clutched in, then freaked and hit the gas and bounced off the limiter...then got composed and did the mirror check to see if anyone around "saw" this slight embarrassment only to see a creepy clown staring back at him in the rearview...at least thats the story I'm telling myself....I'm a regular Stephen King here in my mind...

Would at least like to hear that everything is OK.

Hopefully the OP is okay and didn't have a nervous breakdown from his perceived money shift. I've heard before that a money shift will make itself known within the next 5,000 +/- street miles (perhaps sooner if driven hard on a track?) if it caused real damage to your engine. I wonder how much truth there is to this statement.

The conventional wisdom I've read is that most issues will manifest within 50 hours of operating time after the incident.

Interesting, perhaps I confused 50 hrs of operating time with 5,000 miles...after all, they both begin with a 5. LOL

It's the same time, if you average 100mph

Wow, really? The 4.0 I-6 in my Wrangler is DONE at about 3500 RPM. Not sure I've ever seen 4K in it...
