Default Interior Cabin Air Filter Removal with Light Weight Carbon Bucket Seats

In order so save the next person a LOT OF HASSLE and skeletal dis-figuration here's my advice: Do not attempt to change the cabin air filter under the glove box if you have LWCB seats - unless you remove your seat. By remove I mean remove the 4 bolts and slide the seat out of the way. You don't need to unplug the seat from the electrical harness, just get it out of the way as much as possible.
Unless you are a Cirque du Soleil member or a Vegas contortionist it's simply too tight a space to do the work with the LWCB seat in place. I'm sure people have done it with the seat in place but those people are not like the rest of us. It only takes 5-10 minutes to get the seat out of the way so you might as well make your life a little easier and make room for yourself to work.

Thanks for reinforcing my trepidation of trying it. I could hardly reach it on a previous car with regular seats and gave up with that. Indie for the win.

Thanks from me as well. I'm planning on changing mine soon. Sounds like it's almost easier changing engine air filters...

The interior cabin filter was the hardest part of my 2 year diy service. The spark plugs were easier. Good luck to all the backs of the brave diyers.

I will also note the best non-official Porsche tool for the filter cover screws was a very large metal washer. Usually a quarter works fine on other Porsches, but that would’ve been too easy on GT3. Good luck

Listen, I did change it myself with LWB but my back was f***ked for a couple days. It felt great to save $120 that the dealer was going to charge me!
PS I think it would be easier on a lift.

I didn't mention this, but I have a lift and "maybe" it helped access a little. But still needed the seat out of the way to get the job done.

Huh. I did this on my Touring (is it different?) and it wasn't hard at all.
