depends on how the car is optioned: certain colors dont go together depending on what brakes you get. green and red dont go together, same with red and yellow, or blue and red.

Is there any potential negative effect to the paint from doing a wrap?

There shouldn’t be any negative effect to paint from wrapping.

Default Lava

We are very happy with the Lava Orange, blingy wheels and yellow calipers. Only 21 GT3s ordered in 2018 with Lava.

Lots of looks and states.

With only 21 lava ordered with 991.2 model, I ll get dinged on resale. No one wanted Lava Orange but a few so it will be a hard sell when the time comes unfortunately.

you pay $5 K with sales tax for it and prob lose $5K selling it.

but, zero regrets, i d do it again knowing this. We love the color.

It would be nice if I didnt get a deduction for Lava. A dealer punch in the criteria on a mock trade in, using the Manheim I think as a guide.

When the Dealer typed Lava Orange in the color line, the price decreased by $3500. White increased the price, lol.

So, if I dont get gigged for the color GREAT.

I ll keep the car a few more years. With Covid and being a senior I have hardly driven it since March. 3,500 in 2 years.

Soon, hopefully things will normalize and we can start PCA Events.

i also hope the manual 6 speed doesn't negatively affect me in another two years. Everyone is in love with PDK it seems. I love my manual.

Lava was on many 991.1 RS cars. So even though few 991.2 have that color could be the reason.
The white is a safe choice I was just bored with all the same colors myself hence my pick of Ultra Violet.
Its not for everyone but it looks good racing around.

I had an 18 Lava GT3 and really liked the color. According to the build charts it appears the number of Lava 991.2 GT3s was a little north of 50. Still a low number.

Christian,

You mentioned Wrap so you are limited to only the color offered by the best wrapping companies...which in this case is only one >. Inozetek.
3M, Avery and others aren't close to the quality of Inozetek unless you don't mind the orange peel issue with these wraps. Inozetek is pretty much as good as paint and offer you other benefits too.
I am also going to wrap my '15 GT3 after Inozetek reveals their new colors on December 20th...I have my eyes already on the Metallic Midnight Red and the Midnight Blue as well but they have such amazing colors that you can pick from.. I've attached couple of pics below used on Porsches. Message me if you need more info.

OMG I’m late to this party but here’s some advice from someone who has wrapped his car. First black is the best color to wrap because all the interior painted surfaces don’t need to be wrapped. Second, stay away from color shift wraps or metallic wraps they look cheap. Third, your wrap colors are limited- some colors aren’t available, some don’t look good in real life. Get samples from Fellers and try them out. Finally, don’t expect deep gloss from any of the glossy wraps. The film is thin and its simply not possible to replicate two stage paint. Light colors are best, like Light Blue. With that in mind from ten feet away they all look pretty good and it’s a cheap way to change the look of your car.

Here’s my Grand Sport in Avery Orange (good choice for 991 GT3- but of course I’m biased- mine’s the real thing but rare, only 3 in this color and Avery Orange is pretty damn close):

F the dealer, that's BS. also, the 6MT should also be a bonus! send me a PM when you're considering!
