I had the AWE sides and rear muffler. It was definitely LOUD too haha. I actually put the stock side mufflers back on because it was too loud. I have 2 recommendations for you, don't mount the exhaust to the engine (lots of drone and cabin resonance if you do) and 2. buy my AWE side deletes, they're just sitting in my closet lol. PM me a reasonable offer and they're yours. Save some money ha.

Speaking of droning. Anyone tried installing sound dampening washers? I have the soul system coming and it does have a bracket that connects to the factory mounting brackets. I was thinking of buying some rubber or silicon washers to help dampen the vibrations.

When you install the AWE exhaust you will see it has two mounting brackets that attach to the chassy. This is the stock support for the stock exhaust. At first I installed like the stock exhaust and the chassis resonance was unbearable. Around 2.5k to 3.5k the car sounded terrible and really ear fatiguing (YMMV). I uninstalled the mounts with significant improvement. I still ended up putting the stock side mufflers on and just using the center bypass, which sound great on its own, imo.

I did this with little to no noticeable effect, ended up just dismounting it.

Ive been very happy with the Soul CMD. John was super cool when asking questions (I even stopped in to meet them). No drone that I've noticed, but lots of sound when you're on it. At both DEs I attended at Pocono this year, I had at least one person come up and ask about the exhaust.
I drove a car with the Soul side mufflers and CMD and it was LOUD. Way too loud for me.. no way you could talk to a passenger (or hear yourself think)

Lol, can't say I didn't see that coming
Hope you're doing well down there Sean, we'll have to catch up soon it's been too long.
Much appreciated, we certainly do our best![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)
On our modular competition system, with the valves open the valved version is the same as the non valved, so the sound potential is the same. The valved smb's simply allow you to "take the edge off" a bit in cabin and serve more of a sound difference to those outside the car than inside the car. If you want more of a delta between valves closed and open but still "F U Racecar sound", you should consider pairing our upcoming Competition Headers with our Center Muffler Bypass. This will also provide more of a performance improvement as the headers are where the power is. This is not as cost effective a setup as our Modular Competition Package, but it offers similar sound levels with better creature comforts off throttle and more performance potential.
Thanks for chiming in Rick!
We tried that with very little improvement, you have to Really have a sensitive ear and butt to notice any change haha. It made much more of a difference making our own bespoke support brackets that mounted to the existing side muffler mounting holes on the drivetrain. This dampens the frequency/vibrations through the engine/trans mounts rather than going directly into the chassis like the factory center muffler support.
Thanks for stopping by, and always happy to hear you're putting our products to good use on the track! Were you at Pocono with RTR by any chance?
Rick you're an animal, you must be driving the snot out of that car everywhere you go haha.
Though Rick has not experienced drone himself, I urge you all to consider that sound is a very subjective thing. We fully expect everyone running our Modular Competition Package to know going into it that the system is very aggressive and has notable cabin presence in the low rpms in high gear. If drone is a significant variable for you, please give me a call at 4848836197 to discuss the configurations in depth to come up with the right gameplan for you.
Thank you very much for the kind words! Chatting cars is a passion of mine, it comes easy haha. I'm quite glad you enjoyed the setup, and if there's anything else i can do to help you out don't hesitate to give me a ring.
Best regards,
John Gaydos
