the base is only 12k higher. who in the world optioned a base 991 gt3? the 992 will also have options added that previously cost, so id say its not alot more. the average 992 gt3 will be 175 the average 991 gt3 was 172

How do you know how much the new GT3 will cost, and that previous a la carte items will now be - how so generous of Porsche!!! - included in the base cost of the car? We can look at how the price of the Carrera increased from the 991.1 to the 992.1 to get a sense for what the realistic bump in price will be. It will be more than $3,000 on the average build.

The spy shots of the 992 GT3 are fugly. The rear end of the car and that hangover spoiler aren't doing it for me. I have a 991.2 MT GT3. Probably will keep it no matter what I do.

I said it before; it has got to be a significant upgrade to move on from the .2.
I am guessing closer to $160,000 will be the MSRP butt naked

I have a .2 and agree with your opinion. However, I also felt that way when moving from the 997 to 991. Now I love the 991, and Porsche has proven once again they can provide a product worth the “upgrade”. Although the upgrade train would absolutely come to a halt for me if the only option was with turbos.

The only things we know for sure is that the 992 will be more expensive and hard to get initially (or longer) and sell for premiums on the secondary market. I don't see them affecting 991.2 values until they are hitting the secondary market for well back of MSRP. The 718 GT4 doesn't seem to have put much downward pressure on 981 GT4 prices, even though they're relatively easy to order. CV19 doesn't appear to be going anywhere in the foreseeable future and Porsche might play it safe and with conservative production numbers, or possibly more limited production simply based on supply chain limitations. That could have a significant effect on future values for all of these cars. I don't follow them too closely, but it looks to me like earlier generation GT3's are more expensive now than they were a year ago. All kind of wild cards at play for cars in this segment, particularly the effects of new capital gains/tax structure that is most certainly going to hammer higher earners under a new administration.

Very difficult to predict the future market, but I think the 991.2 GTs will hold very strong. I don’t personally like the 992 gen and don’t plan on upgrading (at least not to a 992.1 GT car). I think a lot of us are very happy with the current gen. As others have stated, it is in that sweet spot - the perfect combination/mix of what you need. In terms of aesthetics alone, it is also timeless in design and will age very well. I don’t feel the same about the 992. If I were you, I wouldn’t wait. Please do update us on your search!

End of the day Porsche will sell a slew of them because some will buy because it’s new regardless of anything else. Everyone has a fav version, and my just happens to be the 991’s as I hated the center parking break on a 6 figure plus car, yes it’s my quirk. My 992 quirk is the Panamera rear end, and it just lost some specialness to me personally. Will drive the wheels off my speedster, and just try other things when necessary and watch from the sidelines. I’m just waiting for Porsche to slap a GT3 engine in a SUV, and I’m really done at that point. GT4RS time to start ringing the cash register, so many damn variants I can’t keep up.
