Paint inside of rims black to battle brake dust?
Hi -
Has anyone painted the inside of their rims black, like the TTS wheels are?
I got a GT3 with steel brakes after having PCCBs and am hoping to done down the brake dust.

I've had these style of wheels before; black barrels and machined spokes with black edges. You still see the brake dust. Instead of shiny black, they look dull and hazy, and kind of dark gray. IMO, much more cost effective and effective period, to get them coated so they are easy to spray off.

OP - my wheels are matte black. Probably the easiest color to see brake dust on. I would not recommend painting black to avoid brake dust.

Ceramic coating may work or do what I did installed Surface Transforms, carbon ceramic direct replacements, yes even with Big Red calipers.

Coating the wheels helps removing the brake dust, but if you want to eliminate most of the brake dust I suggest you change your pads. I changed my pads to some Carbotech 1521 brake pads after reading other member's recommendations. I was very impressed how much less brake dust I get now. I'd say it's about 80% less. Combine that with ceramic coated wheels and you'll be satisfied.

How do these brake pads compare to stock?
And thanks so much for the suggestion!

Edit, called their hotline and got the numbers and ordered a set of front and rear pads.

Sonax wheel cleaner sprays on, turns purple, then power wash off. No scrubbing, works great.
