Default Does a break pad warning appear on '15 GT3

Hey fellow members ,

My 2015 GT3 breaks are making crazy squealing sounds when breaking especially on very low speeds. (I feel more so than normal)
I washed the car and let it sit for 2 days without driving it.
It has done about 27kmt and never had break pads replaced.
does this gt3 model give indicator on low pads level?

any advice? thanks

Yes, there are brake pad wear sensors. If you look through the wheel you can see the leading edge of the pad. There is a backing plate and then the friction material rests on the disc surface. If the friction material is as thick or more than the backing plate then you are fine. you probably had rust on the disc rotors. A few hard stops will likely clean them up and reduce the noise.

Get yourself one of these and you can get a reasonably accurate measurement of pad thickness left.

To prevent squealing, find a reasonable open road, do 3 very rapid and hard breaking from 80-20. This should heat pad and remove any surface material. Ie similar to a pad bed in procedure. If you do a lot of cruising and city driving, the noise may come back. Then repeat procedure again.

Did you buy the car second hand? Some owners who track the car will disable the brake pad wear sensors. I am one of them. You can look at the back of the calipers to see if the sensor wires are still intact or if they have been disabled. If you don't know what to look for, have the dealership check if the brake wear sensors have been disabled next time you have the car serviced. .You can also easily check the wear by using the tool recommended by RDCR.
