For the record, I was about to pull the trigger on this car but as soon as the engine swap was disclosed to me, I ran. I would have considered it at a steep discount but was told by the sales person that the car was being sold - above msrp. Happy trouble free driving to the buyer.
I'm heading to Barber PTX for 4 days of tracking next week, would I buy one of those fleet cars I'll be driving? Particularly one with a replacement engine? No.

Buy it at a discount. Engine and other big replacements are only desirable on cars that are known to have design defects that are fixed with the replacement parts. Examples are 991.1 GT3 engines, F430 exhaust headers, BMW E92 M3 rod bearings.
