Sold my gt3rs and now I’m crying
 

I made a big mistake .... now what? Should I buy another or wait for 992? Btw I have a 992 turbo s on the way . Maybe I’ll pick up a cayman or gt350r....

2019. In lizard... it had most options but the Weissach...

I just scored a 2019 RS Black enamel Weissach with exposed Carbon Fiber hood, roof and wing
AND Factory Magnesium Wheels in Black
I traded away a 2018 GT3 6 speed manual and never once looked back as I am completely blown away at what this car can do.

If you really miss it just get another one with the Weissach and other options.....Lamborghini of Newport beach just got and over the top one!!!

all due respect to this being the 991 forum, and not knowing your ownership history, but have you considered going 997? I never did until last year and now very happy with the decision. It was a little out of the box to opt for a 12 year old car that no longer represents the latest and greatest, but absolutely no regrets. Would be a great counterpoint to a big powerful 992 Turbo S.

No way would I sell my GT3RS. I may trade it on a 992 GT3RS if I like it better than the 991.2 (and I’m guessing I will), but the car is too good to not have one in the garage. I’d be looking for another if I were you.

It’s just a car and the 992TS will leave it for dead.

Go buy a dedicated Cup car something you really can enjoy on the track since you have the funds.

Agree if going to track, the 350R has some serious reliability issues (I blew two engines before coming to Porsche). Phenomenal car though, very easy to drive fast. Ford stood behind warranty and bought car back, but I think anything before the mid-2019 production runes engines have some (unknown) design issues. From mid-2019 on (the V2 refresh) reliability appears to be better.

I can’t believe you sold it! I was actually debating about letting my 3rs go last week or trading it for something else. But I wasn’t able to get myself to do it.

where will the 992TS leave the 2019 GT3RS for dead?.....quarter mile straight away racing maybe, but not on the track, canyons or mountains...thats for damn sure!

I don’t have much interest in the GT3, just the GT3RS. So, no. I wouldn’t buy a 992 GT3.

gt4 / spyder are a lot of fun on the street, fwiw. Feisty at lawful speed.

none of the cars you listed are really like each other or interchangeable from a driving experience perspective. So I’m not sure what itch you’re trying to scratch for this space in the garage.

Well i for one love my 991.2 3RS, the looks , the stance , the carbon fiber in Weissach , the handling . The only car that would replace is the 992 gt3rs .
That remains to be seen .

yes it may have the power but have you seen the car ? I saw it for my first time two days ago and was shocked , too bland inside and out (with the exeption of the rear view ) my 3RS beside it looked tons more aggressive and meaner. Plus it sounded yuck !
the TTS would drive very nicely i am sure . (I owned a 991 TTS)

Go buy a 2020 gt500, you won't regret it.

Funny I’m in the process of selling my RS. Love the car want to keep it but I drive it 4-5x a year and the market seems like a sellers market which is strange given everything going on.

ive been thinking about adding a fun daily driver like a gtc4lusso to the mix. I also drove the taycan turbo yesterday. I’ve got an m2cs coming which should bridge the gap until the 992 GT cars come out.

I traded my ‘19 RS for 2RS lots of fun.

I had sellers remorse for a bit, but I drive the Speedster a lot more 500 miles 1st week. Track days were getting shorter for me, and the Speedster checks a lot of boxes for me. Lusso will be a good DD.

I have a targa gts. Love that thing. And yeah my track days are getting shorter too. Is it just a phase where you need a break?

Too many hobbies, and not enough time in the day unfortunately. Also living in two states was a killer, and now in the process moving from NYC to ATL full time is good for me. I can drive the Speedster all year long, and I was driving the 675LT more than the RS it’s that fun. Rather someone use it more than me, and wanted two fun cars no matter what keys to grab it will be a blast.

I have a 2018 m3cs as a Daily driver. Car has impressed me and I do like the BMW experience. My Wife has the new X5 which is a great SUV for her.

I am thinking of trading up to an M5. It is a rocket ship for a 4 door.

OP, not sure what you're looking for but whenever I get "ideas" in my head from watching YouTube videos of surfing the 'net too long I generally revert back to keeping the car after I get in it and go for a drive. 8/10 times (or more) I can't imagine enjoying something else/newer THAT much more than what I already have sitting in the garage. To each his own I suppose. Good luck.

I have never loved a car more then my rs, also wanted a Porsche for daily duties i got cheap I didn’t want 600k worth of cars including my wife’s gwagon. But now that it’s gone I realized that I messed up!

to me it's really the downforce. it's noticeable and the most dramatic difference. the rear feels far more planted at high speeds. it's a good and bad thing. otherwise while i'm sure my RS was a better car not sure i'm a good enough driver to take advantage of that extra 2/10..

Drown your sorrows by driving that Turbo when you get it.

A Cayman to track would be a good choice if you're so inclined.

Sounds like you've got the means to solve the issue, have fun with it.

you really have to drive the 2019 RS Weissach to really understand, reading specs online is nothing....
here are a few;
for starters, if you are really pushing these cars, the manual transmission slows things way down
the front end is so planted on the RS it makes the regular GT3 feel skittish
the way the RS handles speed is huge over the GT3
the PDK S on the 2019 RS is the best ever...intuitive, aggressive, lightning fast.
again you really need to drive the 2019 RS

The Weissach doesn’t justify the price the lighter magnesium wheels are all that is needed.

I do agree the front end grip on the RS is superior to the GT3.

Go get a 718 Spyder and enjoy it until the next 992 GT3 or RS. Thats what I did and zero regrets.

Man, have not driven the F90, but if it's like the F10 it's numb and boring AF. I really wanted to like that car, but it just never did anything for me. Real blunt instrument. At least the F80, for all the flatuent exhaust sounds, has some finesse to the chassis. Maybe the F90 is better?

I regret selling my gt3.... Have a spyder now, its ok. actually a great car and for sale! haha seriously though, ill pickup a rs before next spring.

Yeah those Caymans are certainly junkers, must keep 911 hierarchy happy.

I have currently the m3 cs but before that I bought the new m5 and the new e63s they were both sold after weeks of owning, both are huge and kill any emotion. Don’t do it!

it’s real or perceived the 911 is definitely the the Cream of the crop....that’s why the caymen has the tall gears I’ve been hearing about....

Why did you sell your RS for a turbo?

I planned on keeping both ..... but this idea of saving money and the fact that I never track the rs came into my dumb head ...... I always do stupid **** too save money but all it does is cost me more!

+1 with the others Jimmy RE: F90. Unless you need something you want to tackle snow (which CS would do well with some decent winters) you will miss the CS. Tracked both and the F90 while a rocket ship, is only really in a straight line. Weight is noticeable. Steering is numb. Stock suspension is boat like compared to the CS. CS seems right size, weight and relatively sorted chassis. M5 you can't make smaller and you feel it. You can program out the burbles on the M3...

I sold my 2019 RS Weissach also because i wasn't tracking it much and it mostly spent time in the garage. I ordered a Spyder and look forward to teaching my son to drive a manual when it arrives in December. Then maybe i will go to a 992 GT3 or back to a 991 which i am sure will be plentiful. Meanwhile i will enjoy the Spyder with my son.

I can’t give great advice not having owned an RS, but I’m not a big fan of the body lines. But I can speak to owning a GT3 and GT350R (2020). I’m pretty happy with the GT350R as a daily driver, quieter and more relaxed in cruise mode is a big factor, plus plenty comfortable. Yes, there are issues with the motor but the current 2019 forward motor doesn’t have the oil consumption issues and so far is doing well except for a run of bad valves (mine was replaced at 900 miles). So I’m not selling you on what to do, but it is nice having two cars with two different driving experiences you enjoy driving. I don’t track either because I have a race car so that is not an issue for me. So whatever you do, I think it’s nice to have cars from different manufacturers rather than two of the same manufacturer. We also own a Macan GTS and while a great car, there is not the desire to drive it for me. Just my $ .02.

I have a M2CS on order but i'm worried that its not enough car for the money

I went looking at the GTC4Lusso V12 (never had a ferrari), the Aston Vantage (discounts are decent) and now I'm considering the R8 Performance.

I sold the RS because I only drove it 4-5 times a year to and from the track, so now something a bit less track focused but can do the occasional track day.

Never had a ferrari but maintenance scares the crap out of me, maybe the R8 just to try?

Instead get a Lambo Evo or Used Performante....Bulls better than Prancing Horses :)

7 year free maintenance on every new car, and it carries over to subsequent owners.

yeah but the repairs don't and I think its a 3 year warranty maybe 4? i'm looking at 2019s to just try and get a year or two out of the warranty.

It is a toss-up right now between a 992 C2S Cabrio and the new Vantage Roadster. The Roadster getting some good reviews. I have Dealer in my town and they have (3) arriving in Jan. If 2 sets of clubs do not fit in the trunk then the C2S the Winner. Plus, their supposedly Vantage Specialist is a jack... and I can not buy a car from some one I can not tolerate.

I love the new nose option on the vantage. Makes buying the catfish one nearly impossible unless pricing were right

Jimmy I test drove the vantage yesterday, I think I'm sold. It is a freakin hoot to drive. That AMG engine is a beast and the chassis is what the reviews say it is. Feels much lighter than you think. Steering was pretty good too. With the new vaned nose I think its a much prettier car, I'm spec'ing one out to order now.
