I have a carbon hood off my old 991.2 GT3 RS painted lizard green. Is there any demand for this part? It's sitting in my storage and I'd like to move it. New hoods are ridiculously expensive - it would be for a reasonable price.
I was also told there are two models of the hoods? One being lighter weight, etc. Is that true?
Yes, the exposed carbon WP one is a tat lighter vs the painted one, nothing you will feel from a performance perspective, more of a bragging right. Whether the price difference is worth the weight savings or not, I think it's more about looks rather than anything else.
can you still get these porsche? wondering if others have carbon fiber hoods painted in a different color.
I have a painted black 991.2 GT3RS hood, during the parts shortage they delivered a lot of cars with painted hoods and then sent the exposed carbon fiber one later as the parts came back into supply

Not so sure i agree.....where did you hear this?
Same hood. One is painted... the other, has a finished carbon exterior without paint.
Difference would be negligible, other than paint from what i understand.

I was told this is not the case, would be interesting to compare and weigh side by side.

‘Think your correct it’s the Delta us the paint which is marginal both hoods are CF. Even in the weight specs Porsche doesn’t even list the weight savings for the hood?
It's not just for show. All in, the Weissach Package and magnesium wheels drop the GT3 RS' weight to just 3,153 pounds. The carbon fiber adds up; 1.1 pounds from the roof, 11.9 pounds from carbon-fiber stabilizer bars and suspension coupling rods, and 0.5 pounds from carbon-fiber steering wheel and shift paddles. The wheels save 25 pounds compared to an aluminum set.
