Default Is anyone tuning their GT3?

Typically, a tune is one of the first mods done to most cars. However, after doing a search I don't see anything in the forum about it for the GT3. Just wanted to see if anyone has tuned their 991.2 and what their thoughts are?

The best way to improve performance of your GT3 is HPDE with an instructor that is familiar with a GT3

I’ve tuned my car. The only difference between GT3 and RS is the tune. You will get more gains in tuning a normal GT3 then an RS. I trust my tuner as he’s a friend. He’s had a .2 for 2 years then moved up to RS. He knows cars inside and out. I went from 455 whp to 483 tune alone. The lack of torque in low rpms was gone. I then added dundon headers only gained 8-9hp after that. I believe max these engines can put down is about 490-500 whp (same for RS) Which is about 550. I don’t see myself upgrading to the 992.1 as the power will probably be similar. Interested to see what 992.2 will have.

It’s not for everyone and you might get scolded for it, but I don’t do things to my car for other people. So doesn’t bother me.

I wouldn't mess with the drivetrain.

Only "tune" I would do to a GT3/RS would be to add the Dundon setup.

Beyond that, as others have said, take driving lessons. Weakest part of any car is always the driver.

Thanks for this. How is he tuning it? Did you have to pull the ECU or plug and play with OBDII?

The biggest power boost for us would be a road trip to sea level

Ha...no kidding. I'm just trying to get back some of the power we lose up here. I've tuned a lot of my other cars and its some of the best money vs. power gains you can get.

pm sent. I did the in-house tuning as I’m local. He does have the plug and play.

I've made big gains with turbocharged cars, but not so much with modern NA...

You can definitely get more gains with boost buy my V10 R8 is NA and post tune was night and day over factory.

Your not going to get much out of these engines. Maybe 20-30 HP.

If I were to decide to go with the Dundon Street headers I would probably add a tune but these cars are so good, out of the box, I just do not find it necessary to mess with them.

I really do not need it faster.

Now, my previously owned GT4 did need a full exhaust, LT Sport headers, tune, and TB because I found it a bit underwhelming. Set-up worked great but still no 4.0 GT3 engine

probably because audi detunes them from the factory so they are slower than the huracans.

Any high strung NA motor making over 100hp/L isn't going to get a significant bump in power. You need turbos for big gains. My GTR went from 420whp to 620whp and it costed less than some people spend on an exhaust here.

Porsche N/A tunes are per HP are the most extensive out there. Living in CO you should've got a GT2 (turbo)
Your gains would be better with lightweight wheels, battery etc.
