Default Brighter HID bulbs?

Hey guys,

I find that the Xenon HIDs aren't that bring at night. Is there a slightly brighter bulb I can put in without burning up the housing?

Thanks,
Chris

My Porsche has LED headlights so I can't offer a first hand recommendation for Porsche, but I've been very pleased with the performance of Philips xenon bulbs in my other cars. FYI xenon bulbs do dim over time, so a fresh set of any quality bulbs will likely give you a bump in performance if you're still on your original set.

I put LED headlamps from Rennline in my 1988 911 cabriolet wide body and love them...so much more light than the OEM:

Aside from worries for the housing, you'd want to understand the limitations of the stock igniters and ballasts (these have a rating which would be bad to exceed).

Nick Murray did a video comparing the US Spec HID and LED lights and actually found the HID performed ok in comparison (especially on High Beams), but LED's much brighter on Low Beams:

I actually find the stock HID's to be quite good - are your lenses in good shape? Did you have them covered in film?
