Looks like they just whispered the words "Midnight Green" over an open can of black paint and decided that any more green would be too much.
i went to 3 local paint shops, gave each of them 4 color codes, took the 12 samples & picked my favorite 2 then i let my wife pick between them, she picked the one that is now on the car only a week ago someone coined it midnight green the name fits the color perfectly in my opinion

Know the feeling, any midnight color is more black than whatever the other color is (blue, green, etc). Metallic gives a little more color. Gotta see it in just right light to appreciate the color and very hard to photograph.
