Default New cup2 and DOT date

So i picked up set of new tires today from america tires which i ordered online. They were shipped directly from MICHELIN with DOT date 03/2019 WTF? I called michelin and was told tires are good and no worries. Anyone in here bought new tires with dot date over 1 year?

It happens to me occasionally as the wholesaler randomly tries to mix some older date but passable tires in there - just return it if you can, no matter what anyone says these older tires do make a difference on the track. I had a set of Dunlops few years old that started falling apart after a day or two at the track, regular fresh ones go several days w solid wear.

Good luck with Cup's as Tire Rack/Michelin still shipping 2018's and never had an issue with them on track. Dunlops might be different but allot of 2018's being shipped with no issues.

Just make sure you have the correct N-rating, otherwise, not a big deal if you intend to wear through them somewhat quickly...

They are fine.

Tires are usually good for about 6 years if stored in the proper condition.
