They did the same to me on my previous Porsche. I think I ended paying 550 for the battery and installation.

Sounds crazy but not totally shocked. If it were me I'd throw an Antigravity in there and consider it a small silver lining. But either way I'd still push a bit more...a battery should last longer than 2 years especially on a tender.

Thanks!
Those prices don't look out of line to me.

No idea about the warranty claim on the battery.

Reevaluate your tender, and/or the procedure you are doing to turn it on, especially if you are hooking it up through the cig adapter. If not done right, the computer will time out the tender, and the tender will show full charge.

I can’t remember, but the info is in the thread about DIY spark plug change. I think there’s a BMW one for less (same part)

I bought a Braille battery 3 cars back and have moved it forward car to car. I never had any programming done and I've never had any issues with it. It's gone as much as 4 weeks with the doors locked on no tender and been fine. I'd get an Anti-gravity now as the Braille has no draw down minimum protection although that might have changed. Dragging the OEM battery out of there is the biggest pain in the *** part of changing over.

Not sure if this will do the trick or not. A BMW forum discussion revealed this worked on the M4, as it needs an extremely thin-walled socket. The specs appear similar, and the price is right. 14mm/12 point and 3/8 drive. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm whether this should work (or not) on the GT3.

i guess I’ll find out once I’m under the car. I got the part number from the spark plug thread grant was talking about above. The workshop manual references VAS6919 and when I plugged that into google the Hazet 4266 Socket popped up. Ill update soon as I know for sure. Plan on getting to it this weekend.

should be in stock here as well.

The thing that's cool about the Hazet one (also sold under BMW brand) is it has little spring-fingers inside that hold the plug in the socket, until you intentionally pull the socket off.

This cheaper one uses a magnet instead which is probably a nice alternative (as long as the plugs are magnetic). Website says it's a match for 2018 GT3:
