Default Wheels Paint?

So turns out my car doesn't have black wheels? Not sure how it happened, but now I need to find someone to paint them for me.

Does porsche paint the wheels or do they powdercoat them?
What are everyone's thoughts on the 2?

Thanks

You could leave them alone as the silver wheels pop

My thought is to never let anyone paint such fine BBS Porsche OEM wheels. Keep them/sell them and find the wheels you want.

Definitely powder coat them....and wheels are a very personal choice....you're like me and probably can't stand silver wheels....

My wheels were completely refinished and painted. Then applied two coats of ceramic pro. Couldn’t be happier. They’ve been on the car almost a year I’ve yet to wipe them. Pre soak soap, high pressure rinse and air dryer.

Yes, and many say that powder coating is discouraged for the forged wheels, due to high temperatures typically involved with that process.

Powder coat is a **** finish best reserved for patio furniture. People like it because it's a cheap way to make crappy wheels look presentable, requires little prep, and a lot of places do it. It's an extremely heavy finish, and you can't do touch up repairs without blasting the wheel completely clean and coating it again. It's fine for certain applications, like motorcycle frames, but I would never powerdercoat a good set of wheels. Also, if you have to apply pressure to the powdercoated surface, like with lug nuts, they will loosen over time. We had an F430 Scuderia come into our shop that almost had the wheel come off after the owner powdercoated them. It ended up damaging the caliper and ceramic disc, and those should be replaced in pairs. As I recall the total bill was around $30k.

So are the OEM GT3 wheels made by BBS? Could never get the real answer. I know my old GT4 wheels were. They even had a BBS stamp on them.
