Why doesn't my stock GT3 sound as good as my stock 981 GTS over the entire rev range?

Buy a .1 GT3 and you get the highest scream in the top range, the metallic noise like the .2 in the last 1k rev range and the music from 3.000 to 7.000 rpm ;D But with flaps closed, its just quit down low...

Fwiw I actually prefer the sound of the 981 GTS to the GT3. Its not that I dislike the GT3, it’s that the GTS is glorious.

I'm considering a GMG center bypass.

Why does a Gt3 have to sound better, subjectively, to you than a 981 gts? Why can't a 981 gts just sound better to you stock? They are different cars/engines/exhausts/etc. Somebody else may think complete opposite. It's part of why Porsche makes so so many different variants of the same car. Maybe I'm missing something? Hey, be glad you like a 981 gts sound better! It's rare people like things "down-market". I wish I liked a 987 boxster note more than a CGT

Me too. Windows always open - at least an inch or two...

My favorite way to drive my 991.2 Carrera was with PSE on and the sunroof tilted. Loved hearing the exhaust and the little turbos spool. With the windows up and the sunroof closed it sounded great in the cabin when daily driving. It really only faltered (in terms of sound) towards the upper end of the rev range. Exact opposite of the GT3. As much as I love my GT3 I miss that Carrera as my daily driver. Can’t imagine I’ll have another DD as good as that Carrera.

You hit on something that amuses me. I’d give up my GT3 and GT4 long before my Boxster GTS. It’s the first Porsche I bought and the cheapest, slowest, least powerful, and with more miles than all my other Porsches combined. But it is still my favorite.
