GT2RS value

I'm looking at a few gt2rs and 720s, if I can get the right deal, I'll pick one up. Also, want to try a 720s which can be had for low to mid 200's and still under warranty.

Interesting perspective and thanks for sharing. I had a 992S loaner car last week and its a beast. The 992TTS will be stupid fast.
Will be interesting to see what you decide. I moved from a 2015 991TTS to a 2016 991RS and I am in love with the NA GT cars. That said I will have a GT2RS one day.

"The 992 is a better car, no question about it. I think its a wise choice to go 992 S, and 992 GT3, …….unless you can get a 2RS for 200-220K in the next year or so. "
"I ran a 2:23 in the 992, I picked it up on a Wednesday and tracked it that Saturday, the car had 120 miles on it. (proper break-in) I think its a 2:19 car with proper breaks and a clean track.
(I'll push for it this fall" Anyone who has tracked Sebring will recognize these Lap Times in a Stock Carrera S with street Tires as being VERY fast.
Below is his GT2RS next to my GT3 at Sebring during an HPDE Day

My guess is that the delta, if both cars are in same condition, miles, desirable options, color, etc will be 115K, which also disregards the lower quantity of GT2RS produced vs GT3RS

Just so I am clear, you are suggesting that within 1 month to 3 years, a 3RS will go for 170K (Median MSRP of 227K) and a 2RS will go for 220K (Median MSRP of 342K). If that is true, sure are a lot of suckers (basically all of them) who purchased a GT2 at MSRP.
My guess is that the delta, if both cars are in same condition, miles, desirable options will never be less than 100K, which makes sense as the base MSRP is a delta of 100K.

I dont think he was doing that - at all. He was just suggesting that the 992 "platform" is going to produce some amazing variants (i.e. GT3, RS, GT2RS) if the base Carrera S is anything to go by. The 992 Turbo has a 60HP increase over the 991.2 - largest improvement in Porsche history - and some have suggested (cleaning ladies) that the Gt3 will be a huge leap forward from the 991.2. So he is extrapolating / projecting that the 992 Gt2Rs will be even more insane. I think the GT2RS is insane - right now - king of the hill. But there will be new kings in 1-2 years time.

Also agree re NA power. It's impossible to really move the HP numbers. This is why I'm very skeptical about those who say there will some big leap forward with the 992 GT3. If it gains 14 ft lbs and 40hp, it will match the largest power increases between GT car generations. That's nice, but it doesn't blow your doors off. The rubber and downforce will likely be far better, and thus a sub 7 min ring time. But on the 2-3 mile tracks most of us use, we'll see improvements, but not game changing improvements.

If someone wants the mint 2RS i mentioned for 280k, here is the link. Please don't offer less as they are willing to move it quickly for 280k from their listed price, through your financing or theirs via woodside, makes no difference but a good spec car minus the seats for 280k, it has been the owners car since new. Plenty more deals out there as I was offered a higher spec one for just a little over a few weeks back with delivery miles.
