Hey I was wondering if anyone was using an impact wrench to torque or onto work there center lock nut. Is there any issue to untorque center locks or partially torque & then finish with my Precision Instruments breaker bar/torque wrench.
This has been discussed so many times, and the street centerlocks are not meant to be used with an impact wrench. Do a search and you will find your answer.

This is forbidden for the street version of centerlocks (will destroy the nut). Only works on Cup or other race car versions...
Also you can get one of these for the track. They come in all different sizes, colors and prices.
This is wrong. The Rostyle wheels on a 1968 MGB didn't have knock off wheel nuts. Also, she should be using a lead hammer.
It is so wrong that I stared at the photo for almost an hour........
I break the nut with a breaker bar and then use a regular cordless drill to unscrew the centerlock and then put it back on with the drill. Saves time taking it on and off. While not "per the manual" I've seen lots of folks break (just enough) all 4 nuts with the car on the ground to save time and then just change one side at a time using a cordless drill to remove and replace the centerlock nut. Torque each side in the air as you change the wheels.
