Curious, did some testing and noticed the airbag is active with only 25-35lbs of load on the seat cushion. Is this normal?

I actually had my son in the car helping me clean which is how I noticed.

My son rides in my .2 GT3RS daily, and rode in my GT2RS before I got rid of it. He weighs 52lb, and the airbag is disabled.

Good to know, my son is barely 40lbs and it isnt deactivated. Approx 25-35lbs activates it in my car, argg.

Maybe try it again with him in a booster? I think with a booster or car seat, it spreads the weight out which perhaps disables it
My son rides with me in the GT4 with LWB's. With the car seat installed and him sitting inside, the sensor is disabled. When he just sits or stands on the seat directly, the airbag is not disabled. He is 32 lbs

Yeah, spoke to Porsche today and consistent with ur explanation. They said a single point could activate it and if we spread the weight it does not activate. I tried significant amounts of weight spread out and the airbag wouldn't activate but a moderate, centralized pressure on the cushion does activate it.

also, just because it is activated doesn't mean it will deploy also its rate of deployment varies on the weight of the passenger
