Default Buying a second centerlock tool?

I'd like to get a second centerlock tool to keep in my toolbox so I don't need to go in and out of the underhood storage. Is there only one version of the tool for all CLs (i.e 997 and 991)? Does anyone have any experience with the non-Porsche version (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Center-Lock...-/192871216646)

I don't have any experience with the non-Porsche tools but the information below claims that it fits 997 and 991. It also says maximum torque is 369 ft. lbs. which is too low. I suppose you could use it by hand after loosening with the correct Porsche tool so you don't have to remove the Porsche tool from the wrench.

As for applicable years for the centerlock nut removal tool below is info from Suncoast. (the part is US$249 which is a lot more than the one you've seen on eBay). It's likely the metal will fatigue way quicker on a cheaper version and you need 443lbs for the 991.

Replacement/Spare wrench socket used to remove the center lock nut (3/4"drive).

Fitment:
  • GT3 - 2010-2019
  • GT3 RS - 2010-2019
  • Carrera GTS - 2011-2019
  • Turbo & Turbo S - 2010-2019 with the center lock system
Note: Do not use with impact wrench, to be used with a standard type wrench. Consult your owners manual.

Can our local tire dealer remove the center locks if you give him the Porsche tool ? rather than going to a Porsche stealership ??

I'd worry about the eBay socket not staying on the wheel properly and falls off to scratch the wheel. When trying this socket, be sure to cover the bottom half of the wheel with something.
