For those of you who appreciate Porsche history and engineering, I am attaching a link
to my just listed Bring a Trailer Auction of my 1955 1500 RS Carrera Speedster Engine.
It is from one of the earliest production Carreras that were designated RS by the factory.
Later cars became either GS or GT for the hard core race cars.
The Speedster it came out of, back in the 60's, still exists in Northern California, but I am trading it out
for my new GT3 Touring - an equal trade in terms of excitement and performance (9k red line).
He purchased the car from the long term (50 years or so) previous owner who originally replaced
the engine with a 912 after "blowing it up" in 60's street race. He, I guess, couldn't financially swing a rebuild.
They were expensive exotics way back then as now.
The current owner unfortunately can't make a deal presently so I am selling. Of course the option will
exist for a rare reuniting of the matching # car with the matching # engine. The Porsche Museum has the other
two of the first three Carrera Speedsters of which this is one.
This is what I get trading 1955 Porsche RS Technology for the 2019 version,
(ok, it's not an RS but real close), minus the Speedster itself and the retriever.
I couldn't make a deal with the current owner so here we are. And I get to drive this one!
