Why didn't Porsche offer a Single Mass flywheel option on the GT3 Touring.
Why isn't there anyone making a single mass flywheel? Isn't there enough interest?

Something about the new crankshaft makes it not work on the .2

New stiffer crankshaft is said to transfer vibrations enough to damage main bearings....

Thought about this until I saw the above mentioned video.

There are people trying it, very light flywheels (lighter than Porsche’s solution) my be survivable. That said I would not want to risk it without lots of data.
A better solution in my opinion is the lighter dual mass flywheel that Porsche debuted in the Speedster. I may look at fitting one...

Sure, it's lighter......by 80g ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
I'm not sure if will be worth the hassle. It still won't give you the sound of a true SMFW.

I find it fascinating
if it came with LWFW peechee...
if not, no biggie
LWFW MAKE NOISE NOT SPEED
I coached many ppl on track most ppl's feet are just too slow to benefit fo LWFW
by the time you blipped and shifted, RPM dropped so much it wont be smooth.
my suggestion to my student is put the heavy flywheel on.

I may not be as fast, but autoblip might be. Also, weight saving alone could be worth it especially if you are doing a clutch. Do tell about the speedster lighter flywheel?

Heavier flywheel definitely hangs up the rpms longer but doesn't it also make it a little harder to blip? I agree something as lw as CGT flywheel can make it challenging to be fast enough. But seems like my 997 Rs LWFW are easier to rev match than 991 with the dual mass. Feels like you can literally just tap the throttle on 997 LWFW to get th desired blip but 991 takes pushing the throttle in a fair bit more deliberately?
