Default CPO Question

I'm looking at a 16' GT3 RS thats CPO certified. Should that mean the car is GTG or would you generally look for or perform a more exhaustive check?

Highly debated topic with strong arguments on both sides.

For me, if a car is coming CPO from a dealer I’ll buy it sight unseen w/o a PPI. I’ve done this many, many times without issues. However there are horror stories out there. It all depends on your psyche.

Pre-Purchase Inspection....

As tstafford said, it's highly debated on whether a CPO constitutes a PPI....For me it does, bought a '16 RS with CPO 2 years ago and did not get a PPI....car's been fine

I think as low mileage as most are with Porsches reputation for building tough cars it should be fine.

You should be fine with the CPO.
There are third parties that can perform a PPI if you wanted the extra layer of comfort.
Follow your gut.

Hello to a fellow PNW member. Definitely get the PPI done. It is worth the time and expense. Like others said it is probably more isolated that you will find an issue but for what you are about to spend it is a fraction for the peace of mind.

Have you looked the car over in person? I looked for months before ultimately deciding a 991.1RS. Came across plenty of CPO cars that didn't meet expectations. Much of this was cosmetic due to track use but getting PCCB checked was a must.

I just bought a 2018 GT3 CPO without a PPI. Really a personal choice.

Best
