Keep the 997 C2S. You say that you have other track cars and you indicate that you autoX/track only occasionally so the 3RS won’t ever truly be in its element. However you won’t be able to replace the fun of the analog, manual, shorter wheelbase and hydraulic attributes of the 997 C2S. The latest and greatest isn’t necessarily always the keeper...

OP... Great problem to have... I would stick w/ RS. But I do agree w/ Akunob, the latest and greatest ins't necessarily always the keeper.... that's why I'm keeping my 991.2 and not going into 992

Would try to score a deal on a lightly used Turbo Cabrio if this is your DD
If just for a weekend killer would take the RS
But- if you love Manual I would grab a .2 Manual and have the vest of all worlds

I got a ride in one at the track. It had slicks though. It was quite the experience. But I prefer buying new cars for a keeper. You just never know what a used car has been through.
not better than RS lol. GT4
See, some people get it. It’s a valid question and it’s not “what’s the better car?” It’s “what’s the better long term keeper?”
There are hundreds of 991.2 RSes for sale right now but if I sold the 2012 997.2 C2S it might be hard to find another one in manual in as nice of a condition as mine. I thought with the GT4 that electric steering is great. But I’m starting to feel the difference now and a good hydraulic has a nice smooth feel to it.

Interesting my favourite two GT cars of all time are the series II 996 GT3 and II 997 GT3 - both tremendous and involving drivers cars. However, I'm blown away by how good the 991 II GT3 RS even though it was an accidental purchase. It's a true standout and when you drive one in anger you will understand.
Is is it a daily driver, not really but make no mistake it's special. If you want a daily driver that does it all you can't go wrong with a 991 II GTS. Not sure that I get your logic with the 997 Carrera - sure it's a good sports car and good looking too but a keeper at least from my perspective no. 😀

It is hard for people to answer your original question if you don't tell them what is in your collection.
As for RS better for track use, it all depends on if one prefer manual or PDK on track, that's all.

I don't think what's in the garage is relevant. The parameters are - it's a fun car, can only keep one: which one is the more satisfying long term keeper? Everyone will have a different opinion and different reasons. For the sake of discussion, what's you're rationale behind that opinion?

If I already have a few manual sport cars and no PDK, then my next addition will likely be a PDK for different driving experience.
If I don't have a convertible, then my next likely will be one, that's why I'm adding Speedster.
I think my logic is simple and quite straight forward.
