Does the stock exhaust get better with time?
I noticed my Macan with the optional sports exhaust started to sound real good at about 6000 miles. Before that, very underwhelming! I’ve heard of this phenomenon happening with exhausts before but have never experienced it myself until now, and now I’m a believer.
Does the GT3 stock exhaust have the same... um... feature?
Here’s hoping!

First you need to put 6,000 miles in a 991 GT3. The side muffler packing material will deteriorate with time and the exhaust tone will get less quiet (the stock system with valves closed is nowhere close to loud, too boring).
Why wait 6000 miles? delete the side mufflers.
Center muffler doesn't have any packing fiberglass material, so it will sound the same.

It will become a little louder. Better is subjective but I did notice at some miles it did get noticeably louder. I didn't wait and installed an RSS center delete. Because the RSS has a crossover at the tips is still sounds very Porsche but less raspy and the shifts sound/feel more like a medium sized balloon popping. I wasn't sure I liked it so tried the sharkwerks. That exhaust sounds much more Porsche but louder than the stock breadbox exhaust just louder and more Porsche pure.
Exhaust note is almost more personal than choosing a color if you ask me. There's no right or wrong. You just need to listen to different set ups in person. Not online listening to a YouTube video.

Hey there!
In our opinion, an aftermarket Exhaust is a must-have!

Hi Chris!
The most popular upgrade would be to swap out the center muffler with a bypass. It allows you to retain the valves and gets the sound just right that is not too loud, and here is the one that we make. We have them in stock ready to ship for the 991.2 models so please email us at sales@bbiautosport.com or give us a call at (714)843-0200 if you have any more questions!
